The annual Beat of Lagos 2015 concert will hold on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. With a nod from the Lagos State Government through its Ministry of Tourism and Inter-Governmental Relations, Beat of Lagos 2015 will see a command performance from its official talent sponsors; with Chocolate City acts like MI Abaga, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, Ruby Gyang, Victoria Kimani ,DJ Caise and others to thrill the crowd. Last year, The ‘Beat of Lagos Award’ was introduced, an award that saw Lagosians voting on the website, wwwbeatoflagos.com for the song that kept them dancing all year round. Mavin Crew’s hit single, ‘Dorobucci’ went home with the prestigious award. For this year, the stakes are higher as the winner of this year’s award goes home with a plot of land at the Lekki free trade zone courtesy of Adron Homes. Russian jets make first foray into south-west Syria.

The US has warned Syrian rebels in the south-west of the country they should not expect military support to help them resist a major government offensive. The message from Washington comes as Russian jets struck an opposition-held town on Sunday in the first air cover provided by Moscow to an expanding Syrian army offensive in the strategic area bordering Jordan and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The US message sent to heads of the Free Syrian Army said Washington wanted to make clear that “you should not base your decisions on the assumption or expectation of a military intervention by us”.
