Gates Believes the World Would Be Better If Millions Read This Book

If Bill Gates knows one thing besides technology, it's books. The Microsoft mogul dedicates at least an hour a day to reading and powers through a whopping  50 books a year .  So when Gates recommends a book to you, you can assume he knows what he's talking about. When he says that millions of people should read one book in particular, well, that's really saying something. What the Fact? How do you give a supremely glowing book review? Probably something like this: "This is one of the most educational books I've ever read," Gates says in a YouTube  video .  "It covers a space that is not easy to go learn about. The world would be better if literally millions of people read the book. I give it my highest recommendation." Congo rebels attack, burn homes near UN base in east

BENI, Congo — Congo’s army spokesman says rebels have burned homes and a car in a neighborhood in the east of the country where U.N. peacekeeping forces have a base. The attack late Friday into Saturday comes days after eight U.N. peacekeepers  and at least 12 Congolese soldiers were killed in a joint military operation against the Allied Democratic Forces rebels in their Kididiwe stronghold near Beni. Capt. Mak Hazukay Mongha said Saturday that three houses and a car were burned overnight in the Boikene neighborhood. Congo’s volatile east is home to many armed groups vying for control of the mineral-rich region.  A week of intense fighting has displaced many. The area is also facing a deadly Ebola outbreak. Since October 2014, ADF fighters have killed more than 1,500 people in Beni region.

Nigeria Belong To Us., El-Rufai Tells Obi.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party , Mr Peter Obi , on Saturday urged Kaduna State governor , Nasir El -Rufai , to stop making inflammatory statements capable of inciting hate among Nigerians . Obi was reacting to a statement credited to El - Rufai in his ( El Rufai ’s) twitter handle , where he called Obi ‘ a tribal bigot . ’ The governor tweeted that Obi stopped him from moving around Anambra State during the governorship election in the state in 2010. Gabon ’ s President Ali Bongo , hospitalised in Saudi Arabia on October 24 , is seriously ill but on the mend , the presidency said Sunday . The 59 - year- old leader’s condition “has greatly improved” and he is in the process “of recovering most of his functions ,” Ike Ngouoni , the spokesman for the presidency , said. Lack of official news — along with memories of the secrecy- shrouded death of Bongo ’s father Omar Bongo in office in 2009 after decades at the helm — has set the rumour mill churning about his health . A foreign source close to Bongo and his French - born wife Sylvia told AFP on Wednesday that Bongo had had a stroke . Bongo served as foreign and defence minister during his father ’s rule , and after his death was elected head of state in August 2009.
