… As President’s wife urges them to shun politicians who use youths as thugs. Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja President Muhammadu Buhari has thanked the Nigerian women for voting for him in 2015 and urged them to repeat the feat in 2019. The German massacre in Namibia

The German massacre in Namibia 2018-08-29 07:49:15 The massacre of modern-day Namibia ;s indigenous Herero and Nama groups by German imperial troops more than a century ago is considered by some historians to be the first genocide of the 20th century. As Germany prepares to return some of the victims bones on Wednesday, here is some background. HERERO REVOLT Germany ruled what was then called South West Africa as a colony from 1884 to 1915. Angered by German settlers stealing their women, land and cattle in their remote desert territory, the Herero tribe launched a revolt in January 1904. The German occupiers responded ruthlessly, defeating the Herero in a decisive battle at Waterberg, northwest of the capital city of Windhoek, on August 11, 1904. German troops then pursued them as some 80,000 fled towards Botswana, with women and children, across what is now known as the ...

Armed Israel soldier takes part in ‘Kiki challenge’

A female Israeli soldier accepted the “Kiki challenge” and published a video of herself dancing to Drake’s “ In my Feelings”. Posed on Facebook, the video shows the soldier in training jumping out of a car dancing then shooting into the distance before resuming her dance moves. Israel has asked two fashion labels to withdraw adverts which play on the “Kiki challenge” for fear that they will inspire young people to take part in the viral dance. The Makor news site said one of the companies has now removed its advert while the other has altered its advertisement. The Israeli authorities are concerned that the challenge will affect road safety and endanger lives as it calls for participants to jump out of a slow moving car to dance to Drake’s “ In My feelings ” before jumping back in and driving away. The “Kiki challenge” has been banned in a number of countries including Egypt, Jordan, Palestine  and the UAE where it has been deemed a danger.
