The group said that the suspension of the boycott order came after a brief emergency session of the Directorate of State (DOS) late last night, presided over by its leader, where it was determined that all the terms and conditions had been met by those wishing it to lift the ban on voting, noting that it was unanimously agreed that the boycott should be lifted. Kanu had earlier threatened that elections would not take place in the zone unless the Federal Government agreed to a referendum to determine the sovereignty of Biafra.
