The Christians rebels seek support to help Biafra.

Christians are indistinguishable from other men either by nationality, language or customs. They do not inhabit separate cities of their own, or speak a strange dialect, or follow some outlandish way of life. Their teaching is not based upon reveries inspired by the curiosity of men. Unlike some other people, they champion no purely human doctrine. With regard to dress, food and manner of life in general, they follow the customs of whatever city they happen to be living in, whether it is Greek or foreign.  And yet there is something extraordinary about their lives. They live in their own countries as though they were only passing through. They play their full role as citizens, but labor under all the disabilities of aliens. Any country can be their homeland, but for them their homeland, wherever it may be, is a foreign country. Like others, they marry and have children, but they do not expose them. They share their meals, but not their wives.   They live in the flesh, b...

Letter from Christian anti-Balaka rebels to IPOB, Biafra and Christian worldwide.

Mainly Christian anti-Balaka rebels killed at least 25 Muslims inside a mosque in the town of Kembe in south-central Central African Republic. The rebels surrounded and attacked the Djimbi Mosque in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Abdouraman Bornou, president of the council of elders of Kembe, said on Friday. During the attack, the imam and his deputy were executed, Bornou said. Ousman Mahamat, a Muslim community leader, said he was outraged at the behavior of some of his countrymen who promote inter-communal hatred. "We have to double our vigilance. We have killed each other. And in this war there is neither a victor nor vanquished," he said. "What has just happened in Djimbi is devastating,'' he said. Local authorities ordered three days of mourning in the town. The diamond-rich but poverty-stricken nation has been in crisis since late 2012, when violence broke out between Muslim and Christian rebel groups. After a period of relative calm in 2016,...

The declaration of Catalonia as an independent nation from Spain serves as a warning to Nigeria.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that the declaration of Catalonia as an independent nation from Spain, “serves as a warning to Nigeria”. In a tweet on Saturday morning, Fani-Kayode insisted that it also meant that Biafra and Oduduwa are not dead ideas. “The declaration of Catalonia as an independent nation from Spain serves as a warning to Nigeria. Those that believe that the ideas of Biafra or Oduduwa are dead are naive. Far from being over the dance has just begun. Nigeria MUST be fair to ALL if she is to survive as one nation,” he wrote. Several Catalan towns have taken down Spanish flags on Friday. This was after the region’s parliament voted in favour of independence from Spain. Spain’s flags were taken down in towns such as Sabadell, Catalonia’s fifth-largest city, and of Girona, whose former mayor is Catalan President, Carles Puigdemont. Similar actions were taken in other municipalities such as Figueres, V...

Catalonia freedom movement, stood the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, mazi Nnamdi Kanu,

Take a closer look at this picture and you will understand what is truly going on between black (African monkeys) African leaders & their European counterparts. In the far right, beside one of the leaders of Catalonia freedom movement, stood the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the man that brought light & good tidings to the most darkest part of the world, known as Nigeria. In 2015, during one of his tours in Europe, Nnamdi Kanu, met with the Catalan political leaders, and each of them exchanged great ideas & support for each other's course; considering what both intending nations have suffered from their oppressors, they vowed never to relent in their quest to emancipate their people from life of mediocrity & servitute. Regardless of technology advancement & the great possitive changes the world has recorded in recent times, an African civilian dictator, by the name, Muhammadu Buhari, a hausa-fulani descent, a British house nigger...

These 10 African countries have the most powerful armed forces

Countries on the African continent ranked by their potential military strength.            Egypt's military special forces.  (Courtesy) Each year, the Global Fire Power (GFP) ranks countries of the world every year according to military strength and firepower. GFP, an agency that assesses the military strength of nations, makes use of over 50 factors in its in-house formula to determine a given nation’s Power Index  (‘PwrIndx’) score. PwrIndx scores are judged against a perfect value of “0.0000” which is realistically unattainable due to the number of factors considered per country. This provides the final ranking while also allowing smaller, more technologically-advanced, nations to compete with larger, lesser-developed ones. That said, here are the top 10 African countries with the most powerful armed forces according to GFP: 10. Nigeria. PwrIndx: 1.3442 Active personnel: 144,625 9. Libya. PwrIndx: 1.2096 Activ...

He said the world body “with its universal legitimacy must remain the center of the international system, and the universal task is to increase its authority and effectiveness.” However, Putin added that the organization needs reforms, but stressed that they must be gradual. “The reforms are needed, perfecting the system of the United Nations is needed. But the reforms can only be gradual, evolutionary, and of course they must me supported by the overwhelming majority of the actors of the international process, by a wide consensus,” Putin explained. The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), leader of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Dr. Paul Unongo,  and the Arewa  Youths Consultative Forum  are not on the same page with Northern Elders Forum  (NEF) chieftain,Professor Ango Abdullahi, on his position that Nigerians should “go our separate ways.” The former vice chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria, has also came under attack from the youth wing of Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, which called his view “very, very unfortunate and unexpected from a man of his caliber.” Abdullahi, speaking on Wednesday at a public debate in Kaduna had said  the best option for the country was a return to 1914 or 1960 or  what he called “let us go our separate ways.” “If on the other hand we give credit to the British and our founding fathers (and they deserve credit), and we cannot contain restructuring based on what existed in 1914, we should go back to 1960 wh...

Will Biafra Go the Way of Catalonia and Kurdistan?,

By Zainab Suleiman Okino So for my Biafran wannabe brothers, please do some reflection and introspection, and seek other means of redress rather than the present course of action. The inspiration from Catalonia and Kurdistan is tempting, but all the indices that sustained their agitations up to the referendums are absent here. South Sudan, the last baby of the United Nations is still in intensive care after seven years of a still birth. Born on July 14, 2011, the 193rd member of the UN slipped into ethnic and internecine war less than two years after and has known no peace since then. What could have passed as a personality clash between two power mongers—President Salva Kiir and his then deputy Riek Machar has since degenerated into the total collapse of the fragile state, with costly human misery, deaths and destruction. If the on-going referendums succeed, Catalonia and Kurdistan are set to become sovereign nation states in no distant future. Another nation state hopeful...

Catalan independence: Spain rejects calls for mediation by Catalan President Carles Puigdemont

Deutsche Welle: World 10 hours ago Spain on Wednesday turned down calls by Catalan President Carles Puigdemont for mediation to find a way out of the violent political crisis sparked off by the region's controversial referendum for independence on Sunday that ended with a rash of violence that left hundreds injured. "If Mr. Puigdemont wants to talk or negotiate, or wants to send mediators, he knows perfectly well what he must do first: Return to the path of the law," Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy's office said in a statement. Rajoy was responding to a call for mediation by Puigdemont made earlier during a televised address. "This moment calls for mediation. We have received various offers in the last hours and we will receive more," Puigdemont said. "But we have never received a positive response from the state." Puigdemont criticized Spain's King Felipe VI who on Tuesday lashed out at "irresponsible behavior" of the Catalan lead...

Cameroon Anglophone regions to shut Nigeria border over protests

The Sydney Morning Herald: World 6 days ago Yaounde: The government of one of Cameroon's Anglophone regions ordered its border with Nigeria closed this weekend in response to calls by activists for protests to demand more rights for the country's English-speaking minority. The move on Thursday represents an escalation in a crackdown on months of protest spurred by complaints about political and economic discrimination in the Anglophone regions of the predominantly Francophone country. Security forces killed six protesters and arrested hundreds of others following calls for reforms by lawyers and teachers last year, and the internet was shut down in Anglophone regions from January to April. The Anglophone regions have strong ties to eastern Nigeria and authorities may fear that allowing the border to remain open during protests offers the demonstrators a rear base and makes it harder to maintain order. Anglophone activists have called for renewed protest on Sunday after th...

Why are people protesting in Togo?

Al Jazeera 2 hours ago Thousands of Togolese took to the streets on Wednesday in the second phase of a campaign against the 50-year-rule of the Gnassingbe family and demand the immediate resignation of President Faure Gnassingbe. Mobile access to the internet was blocked on Wednesday by authorities, as was the case in August and September during mass protests that drew tens of thousands of people. Security forces cracked down on the previous nationwide demonstrations leaving several people dead. Why are people protesting in Togo? Protesters want to see a return to the 1992 Constitution that allowed only two presidential terms. In addition, they want to have it applied retroactively so as to force out President Faure Gnassingbe. Gnassingbe, in power since the death of his father in 2005, was re-elected in 2010 and again in 2015, in votes that the opposition denounced for fraud. Why are these protests happening now? A 14-party opposition coalition and civil society organisat...

Article I of the Convention defines an “internationally protected person as “A Head of State, including any member of a collegial body performing the functions of a Head of State under the constitution of the State concerned, a Head of Government or a Minister of Foreign Affairs, whenever such person is in a foreign state ….” “The acts and utterances of IPOB were acts and utterances of terrorists, said the federal government after the organization was proscribed, but Fein in a fresh appeal to the w...

We would not like the same mistake that led us to the unfortunate Nigerian Civil War (1967 – 1970),

An air of anguish and trauma pervaded the palace of His Royal Majesty, Asagba (Prof) Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba, Delta State, weekend, as journalists and other guests listened to the shocking reminiscences of Asaba genocide which occurred in the early months of the Nigerian Civil War. The occasion was the World Press Conference to kick-start activities marking the commemoration of 50th anniversary of Asaba genocide, titled “Asaba October 7 Memorial” – scheduled for October 5th to 7th in Asaba, Delta state capital. Clad in their ceremonial white woven regalia, palace chiefs, key traditional heads and other title-holders took turn to relate the horrific event of October 7, 1967 when Nigerian soldiers systematically mowed down over 700 menfolk of the community in one swoop. The federal troop had liberated Asaba which was captured by the Biafran soldiers who had made fierce advancement into the hinterland as far as Ore in present Ondo State, having ove...

U.S. extends security alert for Cameroon's restive English – speaking regions

The United States has extended a travel advisory to citizens in respect of Cameroon’s predominantly anglophone regions. The new “Security Message” titled “Continued Unrest in the Northwest and Southwest regions,” replaces an earlier one issued on September 23, 2017 and was due to expire on October 3. The reason for the extension according to the Embassy was due to the violent and deadly protests of October 1, 2017. Official records indicate that eight people were killed as a result of clashes between the security forces and protesters. This extension is due to violent protests which caused several fatalities in the regions on October 1 and the potential for further unrest. U.S. citizens are advised to adjust travel plans accordingly. But international rights group, Amnesty International, also reported on Monday that it had confirmed at least 17 deaths. Cameroon’s main opposition chief put the figure at 30 deaths. Some 50 others were injured whiles...

Doyin Okupe says Referendum or restructuring in Nigeria in 2019.

Doyin Okupe  (Punch) Doyin Okupe, the former senior special assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan says there may be no election in Nigeria in 2019. Okupe said the 2019 general elections may be converted to a referendum on restructuring. In an interview with journalists in Osogbo on Monday, October 2, 2017, Okupe said electorates in the South West might not vote for politicians, who are against the agitation for the restructuring of the cuntry. “Some people erroneously believe that when we call for restructuring, we are call for the breakup of the country. No, restructuring which we are calling for means the return of the country to true federalism which was practiced at independence,” Okupe said. “If care is not taken, we may convert 2019 elections into referendum on restructuring. What I mean is that your party will not matter, your personality will not matter, your programmes will not matter; it will be: are you for restructuring or are you against it? ...

ISIS claim of link to Las Vegas shooter is sign the group is 'desperate' to remain relevant, experts say

CNBC: US News 21 hours ago Terrorism experts said Monday they are not surprised ISIS would claim to be linked to the Nevada shooting since it fits a recent pattern of the terrorist group trying to claim credit for high-profile incidents. "It seems like they're desperate for attention and will claim just about everything," said Colin Clarke, a Pittsburgh-based political scientist and terrorism expert for the think tank Rand Corporation. "They've lost so much territory, and they fear they're becoming irrelevant." ISIS, or Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, claimed responsibility for the Las Vegas attack on an outdoor music festival and said accused shooter Stephen Paddock, 64, had converted to Islam months ago, according to the Amaq News Agency, an outlet linked to ISIS. Amaq didn't offer any evidence. The shooting killed 58 people and left hundreds of others injured. It is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. The FBI said Monday the suspec...

The First Gay Couple To Marry In Germany Had Been Together 38 Years

Refinery29: Politics 10 hours ago Karl Kreile, 59, and Bodo Mende, 60, have been a couple for 38 years, many of which they've spent fighting for the right to marry. Mende told Reuters that this fight was "25 years of hard struggle." Twenty-five years prior, he and Kreile had attempted to get married to raise awareness of the issue. "I remember how it felt when we went to the registry office in Berlin Charlottenburg to request marriage," he said. "The official was nice, and so were the couples before and after us in the line, telling us: 'We understand what you want.' But afterwards I still had to feel a sense of shame. I felt discriminated against, being sent out again."
